The Wild and Wonderful Women of the Back Country

Eileen McDonald with husband Brian at Belle Mountain, McBride BC

Eileen McDonald– The most dedicated volunteer I have ever met! She has been fully involved in the BCHBC Robson Valley Chapter since its inception. She applied for grants and organized the construction of the beautiful McIntosh Equestrian campsite, McBride BC and she continues to be a leading member in our local chapter, RV, cross country skiing, and tourism in McBride. We appreciate Eileen!

Rose Schroeder at YaHa Tinda, Alberta

Rose Schroeder– YES, this woman has wings, she is that amazing! Rose has been a Back Country Horsemen member for over 25 years and a backbone for the organization. She has held just about every position on our Provincial Executive as well as at the Chapter level. Rose holds a director position at Horse Council BC and represents equestrians at many tables. She has well over 50 years of riding experience and is always willing to share her expertise, thoughts, and ideas with everyone. Rose competed in Mountain Trail at the 2025 Senior Games winning multiple medals. She LOVES Dutch oven cooking, painting, singing and of course cowboy poetry. This year we have come up with a poem, “Don’t Let the Old Lady In”! Rose is sooo active, one could never imagine an old lady ever catching up to ROSE.
