When the dream of establishing the Back Country Horsemen Society of Alberta is realized, it will be because of community support and collaboration with many industry and community stakeholders. Your Interim Executive Team is thrilled to announce that the Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) has offered us their support! Here’s a ‘Readers’ Digest version’ of a recent email we received from them:
“AEF extends congratulations on the launch of your new Facebook page and the potential establishment of a chapter for the BCH of Alberta!
“Trail riding plays a significant role within the AEF membership, and our focus includes trail development, equestrian campground development, lobbying for equestrian trail use, and trail maintenance.
“We are thrilled at the prospect of engaging with you. Not only do we want to offer our congratulations, but we also want to extend our expertise and experience in founding a new organization. We look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the growth and prosperity of BCH of Alberta. Together, we can work towards ensuring well-maintained, safe, and accessible trails for riders of all levels.”
I am pleased to be a part of the launch of Back Country Horsemen of Alberta’s Provincial Start-up! I am serving as Interim Secretary and past BCHBC president Brian Marriott is our Interim VP. Other interim exec members include Kevin Van Cleemput (president), Brenda Heppner (treasurer). I am thankful for all that I learned, and friends that I made, as a BCHBC member from 2009 to 2022! It’s going to be an exciting ride!
