Take Your Horse Camping

Pack up your tent or camper and take your horse camping!

Thanks to the efforts of BCHBC, camping with your equine partner has become much easier in British Columbia over the years.

In partnership with government agencies, BCHBC volunteers have created and/or maintain more than 20 Equine-friendly camps across the province for you to explore.

BCHBC camps can be found within Municipalities, Regional Districts, Forestry Recreation Sites, and near Provincial Parks.
These camps offer the perfect base for exploring BC’s stunning landscapes in both front and back country. Best of all, most sites feature low daily user fees—or no fees at all.

Many locations offer typical campsite amenities such as water, pit toilets, picnic tables and fire rings. Most importantly, the sites BCHBC maintains also include pens or corrals or offer hi-lining areas for your equine partner.

Enjoy your morning coffee, then saddle up to ride right from your campsite on the BCHBC member-maintained trails. Most trails are flagged or signed along the route for your convenience.
