A BCHBC Project may be as small as the building of a mounting block at the head of a trail, and as large as the development and construction of a new equestrian camp. Regardless of size, each project will always require hours of labour by BCHBC volunteers, and is often supported by local businesses that provide materials or equipment. The Spruce Loop Trail is part of the Denman Island Park system. In 2010 several sections of land, both private and crown lands, were consolidated to form the new Denman Island BC park. This loop was created 13 years ago as part of the new BC Park. It is in the Checker-spot habitat and has a stream that drains into Beadle Creek of Denman Island.

Created the Kane Valley Equestrian Campground with horse-friendly campsites, corrals, and trail access, providing a premier recreation destination through partnerships, volunteer efforts, and sustainable equestrian infrastructure development.

Central Vancouver IslandSpruston Staging Area
The Spruston Road horse trailer parking area was developed through grants, donated equipment, and more than 300 volunteer hours. The completed site provides safe trailer parking, direct access to Crown land and the Great Trail, and a reliable venue for equestrian events and recreational riding.

Developed and continue maintaining Trapping Creek's 50-mile equestrian trail network, two provincial recreation campsites, and rider amenities through volunteer partnerships, creating accessible, scenic backcountry horse camping and trail riding opportunities.
